Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Carlos Mellado López, this afternoon signed the administrative order guaranteeing the exclusive vaccination process for the population of adults over 65 years of age or older for the next four weeks.

According to the Order, the “vaccine shortage deserves to give priority to vaccination to protect the most vulnerable people and essential personnel from the emergency created by the COVID-19 pandemic.” This group was established as elderly because of their high risk level.

“Over the next 28 days, the first doses of the vaccines distributed by the Department of Health to public and private organizations will be provided with exclusive priority to adults over 65 years of age in all established vaccination centers, excluding centers dedicated to vaccinating the staff of the education system “, establishes the administrative order.

In addition, it emphasizes that the vaccination process will be strictly continued during the vaccination phases and appoints health inspectors to ensure that it is complied with.
