Amparo Higuera Juárez, member of “Las Jilguerillas”, dies


Amparo Higuera Juárez, member of the ranchera music duet “Las Jilguerillas”, died Thursday at the age of 84, without further details of the reason for death.

The death of Amparo Higuera Juárez, composer and singer, was reported on the official “Las Jilguerillas” Facebook page, which also highlighted their musical legacy.

“All friends, it is with great sadness that we inform you that our dear Amparo Higuera Juárez has passed away”says the publication.

The duet “Las Jilguerillas” was formed by the sisters Amparo and Imelda Higuera Juárez, who died in 2004; both originally from Cañada de Ramírez, Michoacán, which had been in effect since 1955 with big hits like “Chaparrita consentida”, “El bato gacho”, “El chico alegre”, among others. In addition, they took part in Mexican cinema films and were awarded several awards.

Supporters of “Las Jilguerillas” regretted the event and shared their comments on social networks.
