When it comes to female streamers on Twitch, Imane “Pokimane” Anys has long been one of the most popular and recognizable faces on the platform. So much so that, by some statistics, she was the best streamer on all of Twitch for all of 2020. However, if a new development for the month of March is any indication of what could happen in the future, it looks like there will be a new queen on the ever popular streaming website can come.
According to new data from Stream Charts, Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa was the best female streamer for the month of March 2021, beating Pokimane to finish second. Amouranth amassed 1.79 million hours of content viewed throughout the month, surpassing Pokimane, who ended up just slightly less at 1.77 million hours. However, Amouranth also streamed a lot more than Pokimane during the month, which seems to be the main reason she landed higher. Amouranth streamed a total of 299 hours on Twitch in March, while Pokimane only streamed just over 93 hours.
It remains to be seen if Amouranth will sustain this streak into April, but her channel is certainly one that has grown significantly in recent months. Part of this could be that compared to many other streamers, Amouranth’s content on Twitch has a bit more variety. When you tune in, you can watch her play video games, dance, record ASMR, or sleep. Yes, Amouranth has even gotten into the habit of streaming themselves asleep at times, and believe it or not, viewers are still watching with thousands of streams.
At this point, it certainly looks like Pokimane still holds the title of the most popular female streamer on Twitch, given how strong her ratio is between hours streamed and hours viewed. However, if Amouranth continues to expand her audience in this way in 2021, she just might become the next big streamer on the platform.
