The singer told the publication: ‘We’ve both always dreamed of a wedding in a barn. Most couples who come from Miami usually go for a beach wedding, but we’ve always had a different idea of what we wanted our dream wedding to be like. ‘

She also noted, “We’ve been talking about this day since shortly after we met.”

27-year-old Garrido’s uncle led the ceremony, where the two singers reportedly took their respective vows on the spot.

Although the event took place in the midst of a global pandemic, the country singers took special care to protect their guests from potential exposure to COVID-19, as social distancing protocols were in place for the duration of the marriage and reception.

They did it their way: Luna stated that although most Miami couples would have wanted a beach wedding or something similar, she and her now-husband `` always had a different idea '' about how they wanted their ceremony to take place

The two also kept their guest list relatively small to ensure that everyone in attendance could enjoy the evening safely.

“COVID didn’t really change our plans … we already had an intimate wedding idea with a limited guest list and an outside shed,” Luna said.

After the ceremony, the reception was made even more special by Garrido, who wrote and performed a special song for his now wife.

Take no chances: The couple made sure there would be security protocols in place during their marriage so that their guests would have the best possible time under the conditions of the global pandemic

Guests who felt like dancing during the celebration were allowed to do so, as the now-married couple had made provisions for their friends and family to move on safely.

The country crooner also keeps his post-wedding plans secret, as he wants to make sure his new wife gets the most excitement wherever they go.

Garrido said, “Kat really has no idea where we’re going … I’m going to surprise her with a honeymoon!”

The two first came into the spotlight during their audition for American Idol, where their prowess as a duo led them to advance to the second round of auditions.

During their next performance, the judges were impressed by Luna’s dramatic vocals, but Garrido’s performance was apparently not skilled enough, and his then-girlfriend had to advance to the next round on her own.

In her last round, Luna played Always Remember Us This Way by Lady Gaga, which the judges apparently don’t comment on, as they subsequently eliminated her.

After both artists left the program, they signed a publishing deal as a musical duo.
