Two days after “American Idol” announced that Wyatt Pike had unexpectedly left the competition, the singer opened up on social media.
“I had to @American idol competition for personal reasons, but I’m so grateful to be able to play music for the rest of my life, ” Pike tweeted on Wednesday‘Fellow participants – I miss you all, good luck! Thanks to everyone for your support … stay tuned for more musical stuff soon! ”

In Pike’s Instagram announcement, several “Idol” participants – including Madison Watkins, Alanis Sophia and Grace Kinstler – commented on support for Pike, a 20-year-old singer-songwriter from Park City, Utah.
“So much love for you Wyatt !!!” Kinstler responded. “You are going to do GREAT things; I can’t wait to watch it unfold for you. ”
The news of Pike’s departure from “Idol” was a bomb. Pike, who had just made it to the top 12, was a favorite among judges and fans, the Deseret News reported.
For what would eventually be his last performance on “Idol”, which aired Sunday night, Pike performed Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” and garnered a lot of praise.
“I remember one of the coolest things that ever happened to me, the day I realized I could make music forever, under any circumstances,” Bryan said, according to Deseret News. “And I’m telling you, Wyatt, you’ll be able to make music for the rest of your life.”
