America de Cali: Américo Quiñónes champion died in 1979 – Colombian football – Sports

Mourning in Colombian football the death of one of the good fliers who had the local tournament and the Colombian national team. Wilson Américo Quiñones Angulo died this Tuesday, leaving a large legacy.

This tumaqueño by birth was one of the great figures remembered in the Cali America, team with which he was champion 1979. In the scarlet team, he played a total of 178 games from 1974 to 1980, scoring three goals.

In addition, Américo Quiñones wore the shirts of Quindío, Tolima, Bucaramanga, Santa Fe and Cúcuta. He also wore the shirt of the Colombian national team, which participated in the pre-Olympic matches in 1976 and the qualifying matches in 1985.
