America, about to sign a tear from León

While they still don’t have a coach for the 2021 Guardians Tournament, América is very close to receiving their first Christmas present: a reinforcement of the current Liga MX champion.

If the contract is not signed and made official, Peruvian midfielder Pedro Aquino becomes a new player for the Eagles.

Returning headline with La Fiera de Ignacio Ambriz, the South American is distinguished by his efficient retrieval of the ball and easy delivery.

His arrival would fill the gaps left by Argentinian Santiago Cáseres and Mexican Fernando Rubén González, who no longer fit the club’s plans.

Aquino still has six months on his contract with the current champion, so it’s time to negotiate; otherwise it might be free in the summer. He entered Mexican football for the Apertura 2017.

His federative rights were acquired by the Tigres, but they gave it to the Lobos BUAP, with whom he played for a year and then moved to León, where he consolidated.

In fact, the Peruvian is already looking for a home in Mexico City, so everything looks set to be America’s first reinforcement for 2021, although it is not yet known who will lead the team.
