Almost all of Puerto Rico is at critical risk of COVID-19 with 73 municipalities in the red

The Health Department published the weekly report on the broadcast of COVID-19 in Puerto Rico this afternoon, showing that there are already 73 municipalities with a high rate of virus transmission.

In a week, a total of 11 municipalities were added to the red list of infections.

The municipalities in high transmission Adjuntas, Aguadilla, Aguas Buenas, Aibonito, Arecibo, Arroyo, Añasco, Barceloneta, Barranquitas, Bayamón, Cabo Rojo, Caguas, Camuy, Canóvanas, Carolina, Cataño, Cayey, Ceiba, Ciales, Coamo, Comerío, Corozal, Culebraardo , Florida, Guayama, Guayanilla, Guaynabo, Gurabo, Guánica, Hatillo, Hormigueros, Humacao, Isabela, Jayuya, Juana Díaz, Juncos, Lajas, Lares, Las Marías, Las Piedras, Loíza, Luquillo, Manatí, Maricao, Maunabo, Mayagüezo, Moca, Morovis, Naguabo, Naranjito, Orocovis, Patillas, Ponce, Quebradillas, Rincón, Río Grande, Sabana Grande, Salinas, San Germán, San Juan, San Lorenzo, San Sebastián, Santa Isabel, Toa Alta, Toa Baja, Trujillo Alto, Utuado, Vega Alta, Vega Baja, Yabucoa and Yauco.

While four municipalities they are in significant transmission level. These are: Aguada, Cidra, Peñuelas and Villalba.

There is no municipality on the island moderate transmission.

The only one in low transmission until this week it is the island municipality of Vieques.

Against this backdrop, schools across Puerto Rico continue in a fully virtual mode on behalf of the Department of Health.

Currently, there are 279.72 cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 residents of the island.

Puerto Rico is at a critical risk level and the positivity rate continues to grow. Today it stands at 14.10%.

Health reported 418 additional confirmed cases of coronavirus and 146 probable cases on Tuesday. While 11 additional deaths were reported.
