Last Tuesday, in the early hours of the morning, Honduran armed forces secured an alleged narcotics plane that crashed and fell in the La Mosquitia region of Gracias a Dios.
According to reports from FFAAIt was 1:25 a.m. when the narco plane entered Honduran airspace, so the military activated the air shield according to the security protocols set out in the Airspace Act.
The armed forces then tracked the plane through visual contact, and when they realized it had been intercepted, the pilot of the plane it tried to land in a sector where it eventually crashed.
When trying to land the plane collided with some trees, later because of the spilled fuel there was a small one fire.
Until the place came Special forces of the armed forces, who faced crossfire with subjects that aided the crashed plane. As a result of the firefight, one of the military helicopters suffered multiple perforations.
After the confrontation, the military managed to capture a subject trying to flee the place. According to the report, this person is originally from Maraita, Francisco Morazán, and was part of a group of 60 men who were near the landing zone to unload the drugs.
Authorities have confirmed that no injuries have been reported, despite the confrontation and the accident involving the 90 percent burned plane.
Operations continue to evolve and create a security perimeter to continue to provide recognition. Until now it is not possible to determine which type and how much drugs behave. Among the findings at the site, a GPS was seized indicating the coordinates of where the ship would land.
