I told my wife about it and she thought about leaving for Tegus a bit long because her family is here (SPS) and I also talked about it with my parents they told me to think about it and that it is ok belonged to my family.

Was it your dream to play for Olympia?
Of course, it is a dream that every player wants to be there. My dream when I was in the Marathon reserves was to play with the first team and God is already setting other goals, new goals, and finally reached Olimpia. I am grateful for this opportunity that has been given to me and I must take it.

Which team did you follow as a child?
hahaha when i was little i was a follower of Motagua because the whole family is Banegas Motagua, they took us to the stadium in San Pedro, El Progreso, but when the opportunity arose to join the Marathon base forces i was hesitant not, because people always dream of doing great things and playing in the National League. I had great affection for him in Marathon for so long and there will always be a feeling, but right now I was thinking about it for my family.

What Really Happened To Your Departure From Marathon?
For days I had been thinking about not going through Marathon because of a lot of personal things that I am going through, that way God opens doors and I got the call from Osman. I’ve always listened to Marathon’s word to me, but no agreement was reached and here I am in Olympia.

Yes, unfortunately Marathon did not go well due to the causes that occurred with the virus and it is not good financially. The hurricanes and the city where I am my family did not stay because of the passing of the waters and God opens doors and can reach Olympia.

Was there no opportunity for other teams?
Yes there were others who called me but the one I liked the most and interested me the most was Olimpia’s.

How were your first days with Olimpia?
They have been very good, the team mates treated me very well, Professor Troglio and the technical staff received me in the best way. I adapt to do my part and always do my best.

How did the change of city go?
The weather is icy in the morning and afternoon at times, but normal, calm and I adjust little by little.

Is the transition from Olympia to Marathon as big as they say?
I believe every player has their mindset, but mine is to give up everything, to want to play and if I can be a starter. In every team there is a healthy fight for those who want to play and be a starter, but I will work on that and the opportunity that the teacher gives me must be maximized.

Other players who have come from the north coast have weighed in on the change
I’ve had colleagues there who have gone there and I’ve consulted them, they say it’s hard to adjust, but that’s about the mindset of each one and mine is positive. I will try to take advantage of the opportunity the teacher gives me.

Are you not worried that if you are captain in Marathon, you have to go to Olympia?
No, I’m not afraid of that, my mentality is to want to play and what I want is to adapt to everything, the city, the weather and I think every day that if I can and get to God first.

The teacher is very calm and talked to me about how he interacts with the group, what he asks, what to do and always welcomes me.

From Vargas’ idea of the game to Troglio’s, what’s the difference?
There is not much difference. At Vargas the mindset is always to be a winner and Troglio the same and more knowing that Olimpia is more demanding for international tournaments and the mindset has to be a winner from the preseason to the last tournament where you have to raise a cup.

How will the battle for a position with Deiby Flores, Patón and Carlos Pineda be?
There is competition in every team and I always hope to compete, first with myself and I will make the most of the chance that the teacher Troglio gives me. There will always be healthy competition and everyone is there to support each other.

Yes I think so, being in Olimpia is closer to the national team than it can be accounted for and the mentality of being in Olympia is in the national team as the player who is privileged there is. The idea is to be able to do things well and tomorrow there will be a phone call because you have to give everything.

Yes correct. I was in the U-23 when we were in Brazil and it’s a very nice experience and hopefully it can be given in the majors. Play qualifiers or compete in a World Cup every player dreams of being there.

Do you see yourself playing right away or do you think there is no more room?
I haven’t thought about that yet, first try to play in the Olympia and if the Coito teacher can call me, I am grateful and I will give everything.

Have you ever talked to Fabián Coito?
The truth is that I have never had a conversation like this with the Coito teacher, I have not had any contact with him at all, or with the technical staff, but I prepare first at Olimpia.

What do you promise on arrival at Olympia?
I promise dedication, sacrifice, effort, leave everything on the field and help the team contribute, both on and off the field. I have to stand out, Olimpia is fighting titles and you have to try to peel everything, both nationally and internationally.

There are several like Leverón, Yustin, Diego who were in Marathon and I know them well. Rafa Zúniga was also there and others who were in the Sub-23, Chirinos, Paz, Deiby. The truth is that with the majority everything is fine, it is a group that we knew from the past and we got along very well.

Play debut against Real Spain, do you want to be there?
Of course my mentality is to be there, we’ll wait for what happens this week and the teacher is the one who will decide.
