Alicia Silverstone has been criticized over the years for choosing to raise her son Bear Blu on a strict plant-based diet.
But the Clueless star, 44, recently revealed that her son is ‘such an example of health’ that in all his nine years he ‘never’ needs ‘medical intervention’.
‘This is a child who is vegetable. To never have needed antibiotics in nine years and never needed any kind of medical intervention… ”Silverstone said in an interview with ET.

She continued, “Most kids have so many ear infections that they take medication all the time.”
Although Bear has ‘never needed antibiotics’, Alicia clarified that she ‘does not say’ [she] wouldn’t give it to him “if he needed them, but from now on” he doesn’t need it. ‘
‘This is a child that has been [sick] twice in his life. Twice. For a few hours, ”she claimed.
He said, “Mommy, I’m not feeling well. I’m going to lie down.” Twice in his life. He can get a snot nose, but he still climbs trees. ‘

Alicia really wanted people to understand that her son is a great example of the benefits of a ‘plant-based’ diet and that it is not a diet without essential nutrients.
‘[Bear] just so healthy. I just want to share that with the world. So people can see that a plant-based baby is really healthy … It’s not like they’re just doing it right. They can do better, ” the actress explained to ET’s Deidre Behar.
Alicia welcomed her only child in May 2011 with ex-husband and musician Christopher Jarecki, 44.
The former couple, whose relationship spans 20 years, was married from 2005 until their divorce in 2018.

In addition to the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle, Silverstone also opened up to ET about quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic with her nine-year-old son.
In particular, the Crush actress revealed that Bear recently ditched his famously long hair, but she thinks he’ll grow it back after his trim.
We went home together, got into bed, and both looked at each other as if something had happened. It was like a new person, ”she recalled.
‘He’s so amazing and he looks fine … His hair is growing back in and it’s really cute. His hair will be back up to his waist soon, I’m sure, in no time. ‘

Bear appears to be following in his mother’s footsteps, which is that he will make a brief appearance in his mother’s new movie, Sister of the Groom.
Alicia also revealed that Bear will be featured in the second series of her Netflix series The Baby-Sitters Club because she wanted to make sure he could work with her.
“Because of the COVID rules, he can’t come unless he’s in, so they put him in … He’s playing the youngest kid’s best friend,” she explained.
“All I wanted was to be able to take my baby to work. We must also support working mothers … I have not been leaving my child for months. That just won’t happen. Out of the question. ‘
