The leader of the group People of the Zone, Alexander Delgado, sent a message to the Cuban people for 2021 asking “don’t be confused”.

“We are changing our political position and our way of seeing and we are being censored in Cuba, they are not putting us on the radio or on television, but don’t be confused, no one pays us for anything, we are not enemiesWe just took a position that we should have taken a long time ago, ”Alexander said.

The reggaeton player assured that “the people of Cuba are the reason why we take our stand,” because “We had to take the side of the people, the side of the truth.”

The director of the most international duo of Cuban music referred once again to the humanitarian aid that was collected in Miami and “that they did not deliver”, trigger for the end of Alexander Delgado’s silence with regard to the reality that exists on the island.

The singer also rejected the surge in electricity and the fact that in the midst of a devastating pandemic, they are “shutting down the shops in currency, while that currency is not being earned in Cuba”.

Too much is happening in Cuba

While Alexander pointed out that he had no intention of questioning any of his colleagues because they are silent, knowing there is a real fear of not being able to see your family again, he pointed out: “I think those who are missing, just in the place of the people. “

He also reiterated his support for the San Isidro strikers, “some super brave guys”, and criticized the increase in repression and arrests in Cuba: “People from the Zone will continue to sue.”

In early July, Alexander spoke out against the Cuban government for withholding the humanitarian aid that hundreds of Cubans had gathered in Miami to support their brothers on the island during the severe economic crisis.

“While you think I have not been accused of 20 things, I am interested in what is happening to the Cuban people, I am interested that the Cuban people are not starving or oppressed, that there are no police abuses,” he said in that moment.

From there, Alexander continued to denounce the island’s shortages, repression, and police brutality. During the Free Cuba Fest in Miami, in October, the singer asked for freedom for Cuba and the end of the dictatorship.
