And he adds: “ The decision of the Court of Appeal is not surprising and only continues a regrettable series of decisions in which the Cape Verde courts have refused to systematically address the arguments of the Special Envoy’s defense, contrary to the Law and the Constitution ”.

The prosecution has seized properties in Cartagena and Barranquilla from businessman Alex Saab, who has been selected internationally as an alleged front man of Venezuela president Nicolás Maduro.

Nicolás Maduro tried to grant Saab immunity by appointing him plenipotentiary ambassador.
