As you all predicted Alex Ovechkin the game winner’s scorer in his first game was back from his four-game unavailability / suspension / whatever due to COVID-19 protocols.
After several seconds of overtime, Ovi defeated the Boston goalkeeper Tuukka Rask on a solo effort.

After blowing a 3-0 lead over the Bruins, the Caps regrouped in extra time. On his first attack, Ovechkin pushed onto the ice and released a rapid-release pulse with some lift. Rask played it down right wrong.

That’s career goal 708, tying Mike Gartner. It was also Ovi’s 111th game-winning goal in his career (past Brett Hull and Teemu Selanne for fourth in NHL history) and his 24th OT goal in the regular season (an NHL record).
Ovechkin was celebrated by his teammates.
SOCIAL CHANGE OF RATE
Since his suspension for violating COVID-19 protocols, Ovechkin had spent ten days without skating. “I thought it would be worse,” said Ovechkin after the game against Joe Beninati.
