Alex Morgan and his family test positive for COVID-19; claims he was infected while on vacation in California

The attacker of the American women’s soccer team, Alex Morgan, tested positive for COVID-19, the player himself confirmed via social networks.

“Sadly, my family and I closed 2020 when we learned that we had contracted coronavirus while in California on vacation,” reported Morgan, a Southern California resident.

“We are all in good spirits and recovering well. Once our isolation is complete, I will follow protocols to join the national team,” he added.

The United States will announce the roster for its annual training camp in January on Wednesday.

Morgan, 31, spent the last half of 2020 at WSL’s Tottenham Hotspur before announcing last month that he would return to Orlando Pride in 2021.
