The President of the Republic of Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, at the proposal of the Ministry of Culture, has decided to award the “Alejo Carpentier” Medal to 12 renowned Cuban intellectuals and artists, “in recognition of their active and outstanding work in favor of development and enrichment of national culture “, according to Presidential Decree 205, published March 5 in the Official Journal of the Republic.
Those honored with the medal bearing the name of the famous Cuban writer and intellectual, the Cervantes Literature Prize, are:
