Adopted groom marries his mother’s daughter at a wedding in China

A Chinese woman had more than a daughter-in-law at her son’s wedding last month – when she discovered that the bride was actually her biological child.

The woman first noticed at the March 31 wedding that her son’s bride had a distinctive birthmark on one of her hands – much like the child she had put up for adoption years ago, the Oriental Daily reported.

The baffled woman turned to the bride’s parents and asked, ‘Did you happen to adopt your daughter?’ Said the outlet.

The bride’s parents answered yes – they revealed a secret they had been hiding from everyone for over 20 years: they had found their daughter by the side of the road.

Tears and hugs followed throughout the wedding in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.

The ceremony was allowed to continue – even though the bride’s biological mother was also the groom’s mother.

The bride and groom are not blood related, so the wedding was perfectly legal.

That’s because the groom’s mother adopted her son as a baby after giving up her daughter, so the loving couple is biologically unrelated.
