The Angels. Adele will share custody of her 8-year-old son, but will not pay child support to her now ex-husband Simon Konecki, according to divorce documents obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press.
The couple broke up in August 2019 and Adele filed for divorce the following month. A judge in Los Angeles formalized the divorce last week.
According to the documents, Adele, 32, and Konecki, 46, used mediators to wholeheartedly set the terms for their divorce. They both waived their right to support and agreed to share physical and legal custody of their son Angelo, who was born in 2012. The documents say they will try to resolve any issue without litigation.
Adele kept her maiden name, Adkins, throughout her marriage.
According to court documents, the British singer married Konecki, co-founder of the eco-friendly bottled water brand Life Water, in May 2018. But the superstar called him “ my husband ” during her 2017 Grammy acceptance speech, and they’d been together for several years when they got married.
