Adam Perkins, viral video star, passed away at the age of 24

Adam Perkins, a Vine star known for his lavish video sketches, passed away Sunday at the age of 24.

The social media influencer’s twin brother, Patrick Perkins, confirmed his tragic death on Instagram on Tuesday, but did not disclose the cause of death.

“My brother, Adam Perkins, died last Sunday, 11/4/21,” Perkins, 24, wrote in a long tribute to his sibling. He also uploaded photos of himself and his dead twin brother over the years.

“I can’t even really put into words what this loss means to me,” complained Perkins, who has collaborated on many videos with his brother. “I often get the question: ‘what is it like to be twins?’ and my answer is usually, “What’s it like NOT being twins?”

He added, “I’m struggling to find the words to explain what it will be like for me to live in this world without him.”

Adam Perkins first gained online attention with his hilarious ‘Welcome to Chili’s’ sketch in 2015 on the now-defunct Vine platform, in which he shouts the restaurant chain’s iconic slogan in his boxer shorts. The clip amassed more than 20 million loops in one year and spawned multiple parodies and remixes, the Metro reported.

From there, he shot a series of humorous videos on the video-sharing app and popularized the hashtag #whiteteen, Newsweek reported.

Before Vine emerged, the internet sensation had a staggering 290,000 followers.

His achievements were not limited to social media. The self-proclaimed “composer” and “spreadsheet whizkid” graduated from NYU with a degree in musical composition and released his first album “Latch Relay” in 2018 under the moniker Plas Teg.
