The whistler immediately condemned the refereeing commission’s arguments to be false and assured that his dismissal was for racism
The referee Adalid Maganda attended the National Commission for the Prevention of Discrimination (Conapred) to reopen the case against Arturo Brizio, chair of the refereeing committee, who has been accused of racism by the whistleblower since 2018. Now the center-back is asking for “worthy” compensation under the law.
In the meeting that lasted about half an hour, the whistler asked Conapred to reopen the case, which stemmed from the complaint he filed in 2018 accusing Arturo Brizio of racism. On that occasion, Adalid Maganda asked to be reassigned to his position, but now he is asking for a “dignified exit,” those present at the meeting reported.
The arbitrator came in the company of one of his lawyers and Conapred had been aware of the matter for a few daysThey analyze the complaint and then announce the measures that will be taken.
Adalid Maganda was fired from the referee committee three weeks ago and it has been claimed that his departure was due to the failure of two physical tests, in addition to having some errors in the match on the first day, between Toluca and Gallos.
The whistler immediately denounced that the referee commission’s arguments were untrue and assured that his dismissal was due to racism, pointing to Arturo Brizio as the main responsible.
Maganda and his attorneys met twice with the Mexican Football Association attorneys to try to reach a friendly agreement but no agreement could be reached, so the Whistler went to Conapred to reopen the case, although he wishes on this occasion that he will receive “decent” economic compensation for getting out of arbitration and not for restoring his position.
