Actress Shailene Woodley confirmed her engagement to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers during a performance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that aired Monday.
Woodley, who was nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance on the HBO drama series “Big Little Lies,” said she and Rodgers were engaged “a while ago.”
Rodgers, 37, had mentioned his engagement and thanked his fiancé as he received his third career MVP award on February 6, but didn’t say her name.
Woodley, 29, told Fallon that the pandemic doesn’t require her to attend any of Rodgers’ games yet, and she acknowledged that sports were never really on her “ radar ” during her childhood.
“When we met I also knew he was a footballer, but I didn’t know what a footballer he was,” explained Woodley. “And I’m still constantly learning.”
Noting Rodgers’ football talent, she went on: “I don’t get it. He’s good. He’s great. But I don’t understand. Because I don’t know him as a footballer. I know him as the nerd who said ‘Jeopardy!’ wants to host. That’s the guy I know. “
Rodgers had revealed last month that he had been asked to guest host an episode of his favorite game show – one in which he appeared in a celebrity edition in 2015.
