Actor Richard Berry’s daughter accuses him of rape, denies it and defends himself

French actor Richard Berry has been charged with child rape by one of his daughters, Coline, while denying this “nasty charge” and confirming that he has never had incestuous relationships with her or any of her other children.

According to several French media, the complaint of rape, sexual assault and corruption of minors by Coline Hiegel Berry, who is now 45 years old, against the actor and against his former stepmother, the American singer Jeane Manson, was formalized in January and last week the investigation was entrusted to the Youth Brigade of the Paris Police.

Berry, 70, has been a major figure on the French screen and stage for more than four decades, with nearly 80 films (such as Bertrand Tavernier’s “L’Appat” or Miguel Courtois’s “Une journée de merde”).

He has also directed six films and is also a prolific performer on television and on stage (especially in Comédie-Française classics).

Magazine Point He pointed out that the complainant, who has received the support of her mother, the actress Catherine Hiegel, will have to make a statement in the coming days for some events that can be prescribed.

In a long post on social media this Tuesday, Berry “with all (his) force and unequivocally denies these nasty allegations,” which “while repeated a hundred times in the press or otherwise, are nothing more than a lie.”

In his post, he explains that it was seven years ago when he announced to his family that he was going to have a child at a time when Coline was pregnant, she ‘responded with extreme violence’ and sent an email to his wife in in which it alluded “for the first time” to the fact that he had been the victim of abuse.

Trying to demonstrate the inconsistency of the charges, she points out that her daughter’s story has “ evolved over time ” and that although she has tried to talk to her and share the case with friends, psychiatrists and relatives, she has not. managed to understand what is wrong.

This complaint comes in a context where the testimony of an alleged incest committed by famed political scientist Olivier Duhamel, revealed through a book published by his stepdaughter, Camille Kouchner, in France has served many alleged victims to speak about it.

Camille Kouchner, daughter of former French minister Bernard Kouchner, tells in “The Big Family” how Duhamel assaulted his twin brother Antoine as a teenager, a case which is under investigation.
