Acting Minister of Education responds to his rejection in the Senate

Minutes after the Senate lifted his nomination as Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Jesús González Cruz reiterated his commitment to public service and assured that he will continue to give the “maximum” of his capabilities.

In written statements, the former Secretary of Corrections under Luis Fortuño Burset’s rule said he will continue to work to bring about “the urgent and urgent changes our school communities need.”

“For seventeen years I have worked in various areas of public service and have given the maximum in every position I have held and have worked with integrity in every assignment assigned in the positions I have held,” said the official .

“The direction given to me by the Governor is temporary, to bring stability and continuity to a broad work agenda for our schools and public education,” he added.

Once the nomination was suspended in the Senate, Governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia assured that González Cruz would continue in office until he appointed his replacement in ownership.

“It is up to all of them (the school communities) to whom we owe ourselves and who should always be our priority,” he concluded.
