Acevedo issues a notice related to private companies, masks

HOUSTON – Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo has released a strong message for those who don’t adhere to private company policies about wearing masks after Governor Greg Abbott rescinded the statewide mask order.

In the video, Acevedo wanted to remind residents that private entities and private companies have the legal right to require customers to wear a mask. He said that if someone goes to a business where you have to wear a mask, then you have to wear the mask or take your business elsewhere.

Acevedo said those who do not comply or leave the company will be arrested for criminal offenses. He said the department is not interested in arresting people and asking residents to make good choices.

If you go to a company and they tell you to wear a mask, wear the mask or decide to take your company elsewhere. Just remember that if you stay in the company after being asked to leave, you will be arrested for criminal offense, ”said Acevedo.

He said that by May every American will have access to a vaccine and almost win the fight against COVID-19.

If at all possible, mask Houston. The life you save might be someone you love, ”Acevedo said.
