Abinader says the members of the Court of Auditors will be elected transparently

Santo Domingo, RD

Luis Abinader assured this Sunday that, using the same criteria that an independent judge chose, they will elect the members of the Court of Auditors.

At a meeting of the Political Commission of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), the president said that with the transparency that the judges of the high courts were being elected, this is how the members of the Chamber of Accounts will be selected.

Like José Ignacio Paliza, president of the PRM, Abinader affirmed that all party colleagues will have a chance within his government.

In his speech, the head of state also addressed some of the goals achieved during the PRM’s first presidential term.

Abinader also indicated that in May the “Get Over yourself” program doubles the amount delivered in March with the “Eat is First” program.

He also took the opportunity to recognize the former President of the Republic and member of the PRM, Hipólito Mejía.

In addition to Abinader and the president of the PRM, the vice president of the Republic, Raquel Peña, also took part in the meeting.

Likewise, the party’s vice president, Roberto Fulcar, and the secretary general, Carolina Mejía, and other officials.

Election of the Court of Auditors

Last week, the Senate of the Republic extended the deadline for the special committee examining the Court’s shortlist to prepare a report listing the names that could make up the new plenary meeting of the regulatory body.
