Abinader also said that he originally convened the members of the Council for the purpose of presenting the importance of a national competitive strategy, and to know the methodology that will be used to achieve this.

For this reason, he encouraged the representatives of the Council who are part of the business community support the construction of the strategy, to participate in the work sessions to define a proposal based on the work done with the landmark.

He also explained that the strategy aims to identify the priority obstacles limiting the country’s competitiveness. Therefore, it is necessary to work with the various public and private sector bodies to develop measures to overcome them.

In addition, the Head of State reported that the first action taken to prepare the National Competitiveness Strategy is the formulation of a National Competitiveness Plan 2020-2024, for the prioritization of actions, measures and reforms identified on the basis of different public and private participatory exercises in recent years.

During the working session in the Green Room of the National Palace, Peter Prazmowski, director of the Council, presented the initiatives implemented in the first 100 days of government administration.

Prazmowski said that the measures decisively and directly hit most of the identified obstacles limiting the country’s competitiveness and productivity.

Likewise, one of the obstacles encountered by the Council Director mentioned the institutional framework, education, market problems and labor issues.
