Abinader meets with ambassadors to discuss hospital construction in Haiti

President Luis Abinader, along with Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez, led a luncheon with several accredited ambassadors to the country who wanted to participate in the hospital construction project in Haiti.

At the meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex), the “Proposal for a Haitian Border Health Project” presented by Dr. Alejandro Báez, who is accompanying this initiative “to explore the technical possibilities for its implementation in the territory. Haitian”.

The information was released via a press release from the Communications Department of the Dominican Chancellery.

These talks follow on from the commitments made in the joint statement that the Dominican president signed with his Haitian counterpart Jovenel Moïse, who is seeking “with the cooperation of the international community that has shown a willingness to fund hospitals in Haiti,” in the construction of general hospitals in Haitian territory, located where the government of that country deems it appropriate, to reduce the intensive use of Dominican hospitals, a matter of great sensitivity in the Dominican Republic ”.

The institution has not specified the names of the ambassadors and the countries they represent that attended the lunch.
