Abinader, exasperated, comes to the table when he warns that there is no rank above the law in the DR

In an energetic tone and with multiple knocks on the table, President Luis Abinader said in his government he will not allow a rank above the law in the Dominican Republic.

“There is no rank that can be above the law in this government, we will not allow that”, the first president emphasized this morning.

Asked about the death of Air Force Pilot Colonel, Ramón Israel Rodríguez Cruz, from the hands of a police patrol in Mao, Valverde, the president said he respects the institutions and that justice is investigating.

“That’s the society we aspire to, it’s not what I think, it’s what decides justice,” he said.

The president answered questions from journalists at the National Palace where announced the admission of all police officers to the National Health Service (Senasa) Premium Service, with 18,000 pesos in annual medication and coverage for expensive illnesses of one million 500,000 pesos per year.

Also announced that from 1 January a salary increase for police officers will be implemented from 20 to 40%.
