President Luis Abinader assured that with the relaunch of tourism through government initiatives, more than 100,000 Dominicans have managed to regain their jobs in the sector and will reach 200,000 by February.
“I also want to inform you that for my government, the development of which I am speaking is infallibly related to the very development of the communities in which they develop, which must benefit directly from the investments that, as a state, and thanks to public cooperation – will be private. we start up, ”said the president.
He pointed out that the vision of this government is not to leave anyone behind, that every Dominican man and woman is proud of their beaches, of the diversity of our gastronomy, of the hospitality of our country.
He also highlighted our country’s incredible potential and the government’s willingness to maximize it. “We have the best beaches in the world. We already know it, and now we are determined that everyone knows it too, ”added Abinader.
The president made these statements when he inaugurated the rehabilitation of the El Limón-Playa Morón highway in Samaná this Sunday with an investment of RD $ 121.3 million.
It concerns the road reconstruction of the entrances El Limón- Agua Sabrosa- Playa Morón- Punta Lanza del Norte, with a length of 6.2 kilometers.
The work located in El Limón, municipality of Las Terrenas, in Samaná was built by the Ministry of Tourism, through the Committee for the Implementation of Infrastructure for Tourism Zones (CEIZTUR).
The president, who was accompanied by the first lady, Raquel Arbaje, gave the central words of the deed, saying, “This is a work of great impact as this area receives about 80,000 visitors annually, both nationally that they love domestic. tourism, such as foreign tourists who come to our country ”.
For his part, Tourism Minister David Collado said that “we are focused on creating the necessary infrastructures to be much stronger if we manage to restore normalcy.
“The province of Samaná is the tourist pole with the highest hotel occupancy. This is also thanks to the film industry and is part of the vision of progress and development that the current government has,” added Collado.
Ismael de los Santos Guerrero, thanked the President on behalf of the communities of El Limón, Agua Sabrosa, Playa Morón and Punta Lanza del Norte.
The works will have a major impact on the tourist development of El Limón; It will allow the full use of Playa Morón and will help improve the quality of these people, with employment opportunities.
