President Luis Abinader said 95% of the works left behind by the previous government “had a legal knot” in explaining the reason for its slow completion and delivery.
Ahead of the opening ceremony of a stretch of road in the El Limón community, which gives access to El Morrón beach, in Samaná, the president explained that the works amount to more than 25% of the legally permitted implementation budget.
“I have already said, informed, that the Las Terrenas hospital had years to complete, I was there and visited it, and we are finishing it, we have moved it forward, but like 25 percent of the works we have inherited, it had a legal knot, in the sense that more than 25 percent had gone over budget, preventing us from continuing. ‘
He said the government is looking for a legal way to “finish it and get it done quickly”.
He assured that these works influence the development of Samaná through the creation of jobs and the increase of tourists in the area.
He explained that more than 40 works are underway in tourist areas and in the case of Samaná, a major cruise ship project and dock will be announced soon.
