The mayor of the municipality of Santiago, Abel Martínez, this Saturday referred to allegations of irregularities at the town hall of the above-mentioned city during his administration, indicating that it was a case three years ago.
Martínez confirmed that the case was due to unusual activities discovered at the board’s human resources department, which was investigated internally and concluded in the controller’s cancellation and his subsequent submission to the courts.
“In 2018, we discovered irregularities in the human resources department of this city council, we immediately investigated, collected the evidence, canceled the official in charge of human resources and subjected it to the action of justice,” the mayor said in a video posted on his social media was posted. networks.
He also assured that the mayor’s office had requested an audit from the Court of Auditors (CC), to bolster the allegations against the former municipal official.
He also said those documents have been delivered to the corresponding judicial authorities.
“We have asked this management’s Court of Auditors to consolidate the file, an audit that has already been delivered and we have filed with the court already hearing the case,” said Martinez, although he did not reveal the identity of the canceled.
Abel also indicated that these events were announced in February 2018, after the irregularities were discovered.
