A woman claims to be Harry Potter after fatally running over a US federal judge.

Police found in the inmate’s bag a type of synthetic drug commonly known as bath salts, which can cause psychotic episodes.

An American woman who claimed to be Harry Potter when she was detained by police is facing multiple criminal charges after fatally running over a judge and injuring a six-year-old boy, local media reports.

The fatal accident occurred last Friday morning in the city of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, Florida, when the car driven by Nastasia Andranie Snape broke into the sidewalk and ran over Sandra Feuerstein, a federal judge from New York.

Snape went ahead and also walked over a child on a pedestrian crossing, identified as Anthony Ovchinnikov. The minor was taken to hospital with injuries. The suspect then fled the scene until her vehicle crashed in the town of Delray Beach, the police report said.

An officer noted that Snape appeared to be having seizures, but managed to get out of the car and stared into space, repeating that everything was fine. While being transported in the ambulance, the 23-year-old woman began screaming that she was Harry Potter while fighting paramedics.
