Twelve people died and 11 others injured by a tractor trailer and minibus in central Russia
MOSCOW – Twelve people died and 11 others were injured in the collision of a tractor trailer and minivan in central Russia.
Russia’s Interior Ministry said in a statement on Saturday that the collision occurred on Friday near Syzran in the Samara region, about 730 kilometers (450 miles) southeast of Moscow.
Preliminary information indicated that the tractor trailer skidded and hit an oncoming vehicle.
The Russian Commission of Inquiry said it has opened a criminal investigation. No mention was made of the condition of the truck driver.
