A quarter of the voters in Georgia have already cast a vote

– The US Postal Service has agreed to take aggressive measures to ensure that ballots are counted by mail in Georgia elections. In an agreement with civil rights organizations, the USPS said it would treat all ballots left in processing centers as express mail within three days of the Jan. 5 election, representing next-day delivery, according to the USPS. Washington Post. GOP Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler are challenged by Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff in the election, whose outcomes will decide which party controls the Senate.

“USPS will work with the Georgia (Board of Elections) to make arrangements to deliver all incoming ballots to the BOE by 7:00 pm local time on January 5, 2020,” the agreement per CNN reads. The post also promises other measures, including a range of postal facilities to ensure no ballots are overlooked. More than 2 million Georgians have already cast their votes, or about a quarter of registered voters in the state, Fox News reports. (Read more USPS stories.)
