A new iPhone trick goes viral on TikTok, and Apple fans love it – BGR

Considering we’re already on the 14th iteration of iOS, it should come as no surprise that the iPhone has all sorts of smart and cool features lurking around the corner. And while Apple regularly highlights important and new iOS features at WWDC every year, the company simply doesn’t have time to discuss every new addition to its mobile operating system.

The end result is that the iPhone you are probably holding right now as you read this article is much more powerful than you probably think. Case in point, a popular video currently circulating on TikTok demonstrates how easy it is for users to take a screenshot of an entire webpage in Safari for mobile.

While taking a screenshot is simple in itself and can be accomplished by pressing the side button on the iPhone and the volume up button at the same time, when you want to take a screenshot of an entire webpage, it gets trickier. Fortunately, Apple developers have made it pretty easy for you to do just that.

To start, simply navigate to a webpage you want to take a screenshot of and, as you normally would, press the side button and the volume up button at the same time. When you do this, you will see a preview of your screenshot in the lower left corner of your screen.

Once you tap on that image preview, you will be taken to a page where you will see an option at the top that says ‘Full page’. If you select that, you can capture the whole web page with a single screenshot. And if you’re so inclined, there’s a cropping tool at the top left if you’re not keen on capturing a selected clip from all over the web page.

After cropping the image to your liking, just tap the Done button in the top left corner and you will get an option to save a PDF version of the webpage to your Files app.

Now frankly, this functionality has been present in iOS for years and is not new at all. Still, with many people still new to the iPhone platform or perhaps unfamiliar with some select power features, chances are someone will see this tip and be blown away.

It’s worth noting that this trick in particular only works in mobile Safari, which means you can’t use it to take a snapshot of the entirety of one of your texting conversations.

Meanwhile, if history is any indication, WWDC 2021 will take place in June and it will be interesting to see what kind of tent pole features Apple plans to introduce this year. What’s curious about the iOS 15 release is that we haven’t seen any significant rumors about the software update at all, other than that the update will likely drop support for the iPhone 6 and the original iPhone SE.
