And it worked.
Aaron Epstein paid $ 10,000 for the ads in the Wall Street Journal and accused AT&T of short-changing residents needing fast Internet service.
A day later, soldiers arrived at Epstein’s door.
“At noon I eat my lunch, the front doorbell rings,” Epstein recalled. “There are two men in AT&T uniforms with boots where you climb poles. Say we’re here to install the fiber optic line behind your house. ‘
“I thought so, bingo.”
Much to his delight, Epstein’s home now has AT&T fiber-optic services with blazing-fast internet speeds less than a week later.
AT&T said in a statement, “Earlier this week, we completed our planned expansion of AT&T Fiber near this customer, and we were delighted to give him the upgrade he wanted.”
