A look inside Trump’s new office

A photo of former President Donald Trump in his new office in Mar-a-Lago was published Monday, with presidential souvenirs and clues as to how he is spending his post-presidency.

Trump is seated at a desk similar to the Oval Office’s Resolute Desk in the photo, which former assistant Stephen Miller tweeted after what he called a “ great gathering. ”

Reading glasses and an open copy of the Wall Street Journal are on Trump’s desk. Trump rarely wears glasses in public.

Partially hidden behind a phone, it turns out to be his drink of choice, a bottle of Diet Coke – though he doesn’t seem to have a button to summon his favorite low-calorie drink in the White House.

A photo of Mount Rushmore with its four presidents hangs on a wall behind Trump. Last year, he pondered adding a fifth face: his. The photo appears to show Marine One’s presidential helicopter flying past the chiseled landmark – possibly last year when Trump headlined a fireworks show on July 4.

Also on the ex-president’s desk is a piece of metal used to build his US-Mexico border wall. The memento was turned into a trophy and presented to Trump during an April 2019 visit to Calexico, California.

On one table above Trump’s shoulder is a small statue of Trump himself, while on another table are family photos.

Miller was a hardliner of immigration policy and helped push reforms to reduce illegal and legal immigration. He met Trump amid a migrant crisis between the US and Mexico that many, including Trump, attribute to hasty reforms and Biden statements on immigration.
