NieR Replicant version 1.22474487139 … (as if the new name isn’t confusing enough) is an old game with a rather complex background. The action-adventure role-playing game (RPG) is essentially a remake of the 2010 original NieR Replicant which was released in Japan, which you may have missed even if you’ve played all the games in the franchise.

That is because NieR Replicant was released in Japan on the PlayStation 3, another alternate version, Never design was also released for the Xbox 360, which featured an older protagonist, created under pressure from Square Enix’s US arm, to cater to the international audience. Never design then became the last released version of the game outside of Japan as To deny for both platforms.

Are we clear so far? Good.

Most fans would know the indirect but critically acclaimed sequel to the original game, NieR: Automata, which was released in 2017. Oh, and the whole NoR franchise is basically a spin-off of the iconic Dragon Guard series, and follows an alternate ending to the first game.

Now that you have an almost history of NieR Replicant, NieR Gestalt or NieR …let’s talk about the remake, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 …, which we will use for all of us Replicant remake from here.

Replicant remake puts the player in an unusually serene post-apocalyptic world where there are few to no modern buildings left, and where ethereal monsters called Shades roam and thwart the remaining humans. While you can see remnants of train tracks and machines throughout the game, in fact the world has been stripped of all modern technology and everyone is back with medieval tools.

The universe in this game is terrifyingly beautiful and looks identical to the original game, except it has been completely improved with modern graphics. Although the whole map is not exceptionally large, the world is a charming landscape that reminds us of the classic Shadow of the colossus.

In Replicant remake, you play as a teenage boy (that you name) who must save his sister Yonah from a terminal virus known as the Black Scrawl. The main objective of the game follows this entire story and slowly unravels as you progress in search of a cure for your sister.

In addition to the main story, the game also includes plenty of side quests you can complete to collect more gold to spend on consumables (for health and temporary stat boosts) and weapons. These side quests include moving places, collecting items, and killing Shades.

Unfortunately, some of the main quests in this game feel somewhat pointless and repetitive at first, as they are mainly quests where you have to run between locations that don’t necessarily continue the main story. However, the pace picks up and becomes more engaging once you get through the early stages.

Along the way, you’ll meet a few characters who figure prominently in the game’s stories, and one such figure is Grimoire Weiss, besides being an ancient floating book that possesses not only extraordinary magical powers, but also a quirky and quirky personality. . . The relationship explored between you and Grimoire Weiss is a big part of the compelling story you’ll witness as they go through various stages of bickering, worry, and anxiety.

In addition to Grimoire Weiss, there will of course be several other characters, such as Kaine and Emil, who play their own roles in your crusade to save your sister. Throughout the game, these distinctive characters provide truly intriguing interactions (especially for Kaine) that are a joy to watch.

Even if you played the original Gestalt game, the game’s refreshing character exploration and development is notable for its passionate characters and their personalities.

What’s special about it Replicant, even in the original, it is the way it blends gameplay presentation as you progress through the game. While most of the game is played in a third person, you will find that your perspective changes to a side-scrolling or top-down view as you explore other parts of the game.

The game combines the essence of an open world concept and roguelike vibes to provide a blended and unique experience of puzzle solving, dungeon crawling and hack-and-slash unlike other action RPGs that usually revolve around the same gameplay.

While it’s been a given since it was released 11 years ago, the combat in the remake has vastly improved in fluidity and become remarkably fun. With Grimoire Weiss you find and collect “Sealed Verses”. These are spells that you use to defeat your enemies, and they range from offensive to defensive spells that you can equip. Aside from spells, you dodge and combine your way through your enemies.

Along with the game’s environment and characters, the battle shines spectacularly thanks to modern improvements to the graphics and the whole remaster really expands the entire gameplay of the original game. Whether you’re exploring your village or the grasslands, the world comes to life with its details and enhanced visual effects.

And one of the main highlights, if not the best part of the game, is the music score, just like the indirect sequel NieR machines. Replicant remake features re-arranged music by original composer Keiichi Okabe, which perfectly captures the gripping story and delivers an immersive experience for us whether you’re in intense battle, solving puzzles or at home – the game has the right melodies for every moment.

For fans, NieR Replicant is a great remake of the old game, but it also offers an engaging story and entertaining gameplay for new players who want to give the franchise a shot at its somewhat complicated history.

So what if you want the original Gestalt version you played with instead? This game is set to use the 15 nightmares DLC that allows fans to use the Gestalt version of NoR, challenge dungeons and even choose new costumes from the NieR: Automata sequel.

NieR Replicant version 1.22474487139 … will be available on April 23 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One.
