Samurai Gunn 2 is coming to Steam Early Access Summer 2021, Switch later

Samurai Gunn 2 was announced as a Nintendo Switch game back in 2018, but developer Beau Blyth and his associates have been relatively quiet about the platform chaser ever since. Wednesday we finally got an update: Samurai Gunn 2 is coming to Steam Early Access this summer and is bringing some new friends.

Among those friends is the husband of Minutes and Ana explains Spelunky 2 – both playable characters. You can see the duo in a new trailer for Samurai Gunn 2, the sequel to the original 2013 Weapons and Katana Brawl.

Samurai Gunn 2 includes three modes: Adventure, Versus and Comic. Developer says it plans to “continue updating” Samurai Gunn 2 in Early Access until we end Adventure mode, finish the comic and expand Versus mode with many new characters and levels. We expect this to take about a year, but it could take longer depending on player feedback and any additional content ideas we come up with. The Early Access version is expected to come with eight playable characters, nine Versus levels, the first quarter of Adventure (21 levels) and the first of six Comic chapters.

On Twitter, the developer also confirmed that a Nintendo Switch version of Samurai Gunn 2 arrives saying “we still plan on hitting Switch with our 1.0 release.”
