PowerColor Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Devil Ultimate with AMD Big Navi Sets World Record GPU Frequency of 3.2GHz

PowerColor’s Radeon RX 6900 XT Red Devil Ultimate with AMD’s Big Navi 21 XTXH has set the world record GPU frequency. The GPU was pushed to an incredible 3.2 GHz by the famous overclocker, Der8auer, who pushed the card to its limits using LN2 cooling.

AMD Big Navi 21 XTXH on PowerColor Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Devil Ultimate sets world record GPU frequency of 3.2 GHz

The AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT with the Big Navi 21 XTX GPU is the red team’s flagship offering, but at launch, overclockers were disappointed that AMD had set a GPU clock limit of around 2.8-3.0 GHz for its flagship chips. Only recently AMD started shipping its higher-ranking Navi 21 XTXH GPUs to AIBs and since then we’ve seen several new variants such as PowerColor’s RX 6900 XT Red Devil & Liquid Devil Ultimate and ASRock’s RX 6900 XT OC Formula.

Overclocker, Der8auer, has got their hands on a brand new PowerColor Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Devil Ultimate graphics card with the aforementioned AMD Navi 21 XTXH GPU. Using the PPG (PowerPlay Generator & Editor) tool used only internally by AMD, Der8auer was able to discover that the new chips have a much higher clock limit of 4.0 GHz.

The PowerColor Radeon RX 6900 XT runs under standard liquid cooling and reaches speeds of around 2.85 GHz. The GPU switched to LN2 cooling and reached an impressive clock speed of 3.2 GHz (3225 MHz), making it the fastest frequency ever achieved by a GPU to date. The clock speed is approximately 200 MHz higher than the previous world record set by Kingpin on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 1080 Ti Pascal GPU.

These are really impressive things for PowerColor, showing the true power that AMD’s Big Navi GPU possesses in terms of an architecture tuned for higher frequencies compared to older Navi chips. This overclock is also a much more impressive showcase from Der8auer itself. To top it all off, the overclocker says the card just might have the potential to go to 3.5GHz with increased voltages, which is just insane.
