The new iPad Pro has better PlayStation Controller support than PS4

The latest iPad Pro not only has Apple’s own M1 processor, but also supports the latest Xbox Series X / S controllers as well as the PS5’s DualSense, complete with haptics. IPad Product Marketing Manager Raja Bose spoke at Apple’s Spring Loaded event about how the graphics of the new iPad Pro have been vastly improved thanks to the M1 processor’s 8-core GPU when he also revealed the news about the controllers.

“You can also play the latest games with console-quality graphics at super-high frame rates. This raw performance, along with the ProMotion display, four speakers and now support for the latest PlayStation or Xbox game controllers with haptics, enable game play on iPad Pro insanely fun. ”said Bose.

While Bose didn’t go into further detail, a DualSense was shown on-screen as he discussed the controllers and haptics, suggesting that iPad Pro developers may be able to take advantage of the unique feature set offered by the DualSense, as well as the latest Xbox controller.

This also means that the new iPad Pro will have better PlayStation controller support than the PS4 currently has as it doesn’t currently support the DualSense by default, even though the PS3 does.
The 11-inch iPad Pro is $ 799 and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is $ 1099. Preorders for both models begin April 30 and will be released in the second half of May.
