Dee Snider (TURNED SISTER), Alex Skolnick (TESTAMENT) and Tracii Guns (LA GUNS) are among the musicians who commented on the news on social media that Ted Nugent, who once rejected COVID-19, tested positive for it, and “can barely get out of bed” because of aches and pains.
In a Facebook Live stream on Monday, the outspoken conservative rocker said, “I need to make an announcement. Everyone told me not to announce this.
‘I’ve had flu symptoms for the past ten days. I thought I was dying. Just a cluster fuck.
“I tested positive today. I got the Chinese shit. I have a full head, pain in my body. My god, what a pain in the ass. I literally could hardly crawl out of bed for the past few days … So I’m officially tested positive for COVID-19 today. “
Nugent went on to say that he is “housebound, ie quarantined” while recovering from the disease.
Later on Monday Nugent spoke in a little more detail about his COVID-19 fight on an episode of his internet show Spirit CampfireHe said, “I’ve been there for a long time – 72.4 years, to be exact – and it’s been quite an adventure … But I’ve never been so sick in all my life … I could barely crawling out of bed. And I’m not looking for sympathy, I’m just trying to share a medical emergency during a global medical emergency, and whatever Nugent strain, which this guitarist is doing this afternoon to counter a COVID-19 positive test. And it becomes willpower. “
Earlier this month, Ted made headlines when he suggested that the novel coronavirus is called COVID-19 because there have been 18 other coronaviruses. Nugent also reiterated a story pushed by conservative media and disputed by health experts that suggests the official death toll from the coronavirus is too high.
“They claim that five hundred thousand people have died from COVID-19,” he said in a previous one Facebook Live flow. “Bullshit. I believe medical researchers in all 50 states have left.” I put on the death certificate that he died of asphyxiation, but they put me on COVID. “Well, this man was stabbed to death, but they put me to sleep COVID.” “This man got run over by a tandem gravel truck doing a four-wheel drift and the crows pecking at your flesh, but they made me put down COVID-19.” ‘
In December, Nugent expressed skepticism about the existence of the coronavirus, calling it a “scam pandemic” and pledging not to take a vaccine.
“It’s not a real pandemic and that’s not a real vaccine. I’m sorry, I don’t use a vaccine,” Nugent said in one Facebook Live flow.
‘You come to me with a needle and I will fear for my life. You know what I’ll do if you come to me with a needle. ‘ Hi, I’m from the government. This needle is good for you. Fuck you. “
Nugent has also mocked people wearing face masks, despite both the CDC and World Health Organisation have called for universal use.
