Ted Nugent, who once turned down Covid-19, told his fans Monday that he tested positive for it and “can barely get out of bed” due to aches and pains.
In a video posted to Facebook, the rocker said he had “flu symptoms for the past 10 days” and “thought I was dying.”
“I tested positive today,” Nugent told fans in footage that appeared to have been shot on his Michigan farm.
“I’ve got a full head, body hurts, oh my god, what a pain in the a– I literally can barely get out of bed for the last few days, but I did. I crawled.”
The rocker seemed to say he will follow orders to remain in isolation: “I am housebound, ie in quarantine.”
During his 8-minute and 50-second video, the 72-year-old also used racist language to describe the virus that killed more than 570,000 Americans Tuesday morning, according to a running count by NBC News.
Just four months ago, Nugent questioned the existence of the coronavirus, called it a “scam pandemic” and promised not to take a vaccine.
“It’s not a real pandemic and it’s not a real vaccine. Sorry, I’m not using a vaccine,” Nugent told fans in a video on Christmas Day.
“You come to me with a needle and I will fear for my life. You know what I will do if you come to me with a needle.” Hi, I’m from the government, this needle is good for you. ‘F — you. “
