Actor Felix Silla, known for his role as cousin Itt in ‘The Addams Family’, dies at the age of 84

Silla died after a battle with pancreatic cancer, his manager Timothy Beal told CNN.

“He was a great friend, a great customer and he will be missed,” said Beal.

Co-actor and Silla’s friend of over 40 years Gil Gerard confirmed his death and tweeted a tribute. Silla and Gerard were castmates in the 1979 action movie “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century” and often participated together in panel discussions at conventions such as Dragon Con.

“Felix passed away only a few hours ago and the only good thing I can draw from his death is that he has not suffered anymore,” said Gerard. “I will miss him terribly, especially the great time we had on our panels.”

He portrayed the hairy cousin Itt in “The Addams Family” during its two-season run that began in 1965. But his career spanned several decades, including 1983’s “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi,” where he played an Ewok, and a role in the 1987 movie “Spaceballs”, a parody of the Star Wars movies.

The actor did stunt work on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, ET the Extra-Terrestrial and Poltergeist.

According to an previous tweet from Gerard, who said he had spoken briefly to his friend.

Silla is survived by his wife Sue and daughter Bonnie. His son Michael died on March 22, 2020, at the age of 45, according to his publicist Bonnie Vent, who described him as a nice and humble man.

Silla was 90 inches tall and his wife is 1.25 inches tall, Vent said.

“Felix used to tell everyone he married a tall blonde,” said Vent. “He is loved by everyone who knew him.”
