Joe Buck as guest host ‘Jeopardy’

One of the biggest voices in the sport will be given the chance to host “Jeopardy”. According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, broadcaster Joe Buck will guest host the program.

The program cycles past guest hosts after the death of longtime host Alex Trebek. A number of celebrities, including Katie Couric, Ken Jennings and Dr. Oz, have made an effort to play the part.

According to the post, Buck’s episodes will air in the summer. It is unclear how long Buck will be hosting the show. Most celebrity guest hosts have filled in for a week or two.

Buck, 51, won’t be the first sports name to fill the role of host. That title belongs to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, whose performance received rave reviews from fans.

Rodgers took up the hosting challenge despite having no experience as a television broadcaster. That won’t be the case for Buck, who has been calling Fox games since 1994. During his career, Buck has called multiple Super Bowls and World Series.

How will Joe Buck act as ‘Jeopardy’ presenter?

Buck has a lot of hosting experience, so he will probably do well hosting “Jeopardy”. Sports fans are harsh critics of Buck, but getting into a more playful mood can be a good thing for him. Buck shows a dry wit on Twitter, and that could well come across while hosting ‘Jeopardy’.

After Trebek’s death, “Jeopardy” has tried out a number of guest hosts to fill the role of Trebek. It is believed that the program will eventually hire a new full-time host.
