The late Prince Philip is said to have once asked Queen Elizabeth to “just put me in the back of a Land Rover and drive me to Windsor,” when he died, and that’s pretty much what’s going to happen on Saturday.

The Royal Family has unveiled the custom Land Rover Defender that Prince Philip helped design that will carry his chest across the castle grounds to St. George’s Chapel for the service.

According to Sky News, Prince Philip had spent the past 18 years tinkering with the help of Land Rover on the 2003 Defender TD5 130 chassis cab, choosing the color of the paint and having a platform with stakes to hold the box up.

Royal chests are traditionally transported on horse-drawn gun wagons, but Prince Philip is a noted Land Rover enthusiast who was often seen in the brand’s vehicles. He was at the wheel of a Land Rover Freelander when he was in a car accident on a public road at the age of 97 in 2019, which led to his driver’s license being handed over for good.

Currently, Queen Elizabeth’s late husband is still in Windsor Castle.

He died on April 9 at the age of 99.
