Justin Bieber discusses ‘lack of confidence’ in the early days of marriage

Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber’s wedding might have seemed like a picture from the start, but it seems they didn’t really have a honeymoon.

In an interview with GQ, the pop star said he walked a lot “on eggshells.”

“The first year of marriage was very difficult because there was a lot, back to the trauma stuff. There was just a lack of confidence,” he said. “There were all these things you don’t want to admit to the person you’re with because it’s scary. You don’t want to scare them off saying, ‘I’m scared’.”

Justin, 27, said he admits he felt “forced” to get married and have children.

“I just felt like that was my calling. Just get married and have babies and do that whole thing,” he said.

Over time, Justin began to realize that he had a real partner in Hailey, whom he married in the fall of 2019.

“We just create these moments for us as a couple, as a family, that we build these memories,” he said. “And it’s nice that we have that to look forward to. I didn’t have that to look forward to in my life before. My family life was unstable. I didn’t have a significant other. I didn’t have someone to love. didn’t have anyone to flow in. But now I have that. ”

And he and Hailey plan to bring little Biebers into the world “eventually,” but “not this second,” he says.

In the GQ interview, the “Justice” singer also touched on his faith, saying it helped him get through his well-documented struggles and clashes with the law.

“He’s grace. I got to a place where I thought, ‘God, if you’re real, I need your help because I can’t do this on my own. own selfish ego ” he said. ‘So I’m like,’ What do you want from me? You put all these desires in my heart to sing and perform and make music – where do they come from? Why is this in my heart? What’s the point? What’s the point of everything? What’s the point of being on this planet? ”

He continued, “I just kept trusting what He said and what He said to me. And I just believe He’s speaking to me. It’s not audible. I don’t hear His audible voice. I don’t know if people do that. people have said it, and the Bible talks about that, but I just never heard it. It’s more like nudges: Do not do this. Or: Establish these limits

He does that now. He will not work after a certain amount of time and he has a routine.

“It’s just worth it to be whatever you’re meant to be,” he said. “And I believe at this point in my life, right where I should be, doing what I believe God wants me to do. And there’s nothing more fulfilling.”

And he has a good wife by his side.
