With a deep breath, Underwood replies, “Yes.” He then says, “It has certainly been a journey.”
The promo did not reveal any further details about the pre-recorded sit-down, but was announced as a ‘very personal interview’ with the tagline ‘Colton Underwood: In His Own Words’.

Underwood starred in “The Bachelor” Season 23, which aired in 2019. He was first introduced to viewers as a contestant on Becca Kufrin’s season of “The Bachelorette” in 2018.
While the purpose of the interview is unclear, in the years since starring as “The Bachelor”, Underwood was surrounded by a fair amount of gossip magazines. He was involved in personal legal matters between him and his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Randolph. He’s also talked quite extensively about his time on the reality dating show, in regards to overplaying his sexuality.
A former professional soccer player, Underwood was marketed as ‘The Virgin Bachelor’ and his virginity was used as a major storyline throughout his time in the ABC series.
Since “The Bachelor”, Underwood has spoken out against the story of his sexuality. After his finale aired, he said Variety that he did not feel exploited, but that his sexuality was ‘overplayed’.
In 2020 Underwood wrote a book: “The first time I find myself looking for love on Reality TV ‘, where he wrote about his time in’ The Bachelor ‘spotlight, his parent’s divorce, his sexuality, his relationships and the high-profile breakup with gymnast Aly Raisman. In the book, he revealed that growing up, people would wonder if he was gay since he was a virgin and a star football player.
“It was a challenge for me to stand up for my values and my beliefs, and now looking back, growing up in a kind of hyper masculine culture like football or a conservative family – which I love and part of. values and beliefs like that – but it was still a struggle for me to make it clear to people or explain it to people, and I always felt like I was on the defensive, “said Underwood Variety in an interview in 2020. “It was one of those things when you hear it so often and so often, you start to believe it or you start questioning things. It really affected me and it was a really weird time in my life, and I internalized a lot of it because I had no one to talk to and no one to talk to about it. “
Viewers remember Underwood jumping the fence towards the end of his season, which has become one of the most memorable and dramatic moments in ‘Bachelor’ history. After the turbulent end, Underwood eventually ended up with contestant Cassie Randolph. The couple were together for about a year and a half, before breaking up in 2020.
Shortly after the breakup, Randolph filed a restraining order against Underwood, accusing him of stalking and harassing her. She filed a police report alleging that he had placed a tracking device on her car and claimed he would show up uninvited to her apartment and her parents’ house. Randolph later rejected the restraining order against Underwood and requested that the police investigation be stopped.
At the time, Underwood had released a statement to the media explaining that the couple had resolved the matter privately.Cassie has asked the court to reject the temporary restraining order against me, ”he said. “The two of us were able to negotiate a private agreement to address one of Cassie’s concerns. I don’t believe Cassie did anything wrong in filing the restraining order and I also believe she acted in good faith. I appreciate everyone’s respect for privacy on this matter. “
When he released his book, he said Variety that the goal was “to take ownership and regain control of my life, or to feel like I had some control back in my life … instead of someone else controlling on a TV screen or behind have a camera. “
With the upcoming “GMA” interview, Underwood seems to be saying even more.
