Awesome Ohtani in Beating Angels

KANSAS CITY, Missouri, USA – Shohei Ohtani had three hits and three runs, while Mike Trout hit a homerun with two touchdowns when the Los Angeles Angels crushed the Kansas Royals 10-3 on Monday-evening.

Ohtani fired a two-run double off Scott Barlow in the seventh inning to make it 6-3. According to Statcast, the ball was thrown off the bar at a speed of 119 mph, the highest recorded speed since 2015.

The Japanese added an RBI double off Jake Newberry in the ninth inning.

Trout, who batted behind Ohtani in order, hit his fourth homerun of the season, a two-run hit in the ninth inning.

Alex Cobb (1-0) pitched 10 times, his highest total since July 29, 2014, when he pitched 12 for Tampa Bay against Milwaukee. Seven of his strikeouts came from the splitter.

In his 5 2/3 innings, Cobb gave up three runs and four hits. He gave away a ticket.

Brady Singer (0-2) gave up four runs – one earned – and seven hits in seven innings.

For the Angels, Albert Pujols was 4-2 with a run scored. Cuban José Iglesias 4-2 with one goal.

For the Royals, Venezuelan Salvador Pérez 4–4 with one scored and one produced. The Dominicans Carlos Santana 3-0, Hanser Alberto 4-0. Cuban Jorge Soler 4-1 with two RBIs.
