American Idol judges Lionel Richie and Katy Perry revealed that their colleague, Luke Bryan, is doing well after missing a live show due to contracting the coronavirus.
Bryan announced on Monday that he tested positive for COVID-19 in a tweet informing fans that the disease would prevent him from appearing live at the jury table due to safety concerns for those around him. Although he noted at the time that he was feeling fine, his fellow music experts from the show Entertainment Tonight updated about his condition after Monday’s live show.
“He’s all right,” Perry said to the outlet. ‘I think he will be fine. I think we’ll see him next week. ‘
The duo also revealed that while Bryan is at home, it didn’t stop him from having strong opinions about the top 16 contestants’ performances from his home.

With Bryan out of service for at least Monday’s episode, the popular singing competition enlisted the help of Paula Abdul, who was one of the show’s original judges and stayed with it until 2009. Fortunately, Abdul’s judging skills were almost unaffected, with Richie commented that she was doing “great”.
‘I love being on this panel tonight. It’s very different from the panel I was sitting on, that’s for sure, ”Abdul said to the outlet.

She also joked that she “didn’t have to go to therapy” after hosting with Richie and Perry. This was likely a reference to the playful feud she had with fellow day-one “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell, when she and Randy Jackson formed the trio that decided which singers went on and which didn’t.
